That's a FLOSSE AWAY!

A book with meaning

"FLINS AWAY!" is a picture and coloring book that deals with an important topic: the protection of children from sexual violence.

As the publisher of Himal Hemp Verlag, this project is particularly close to my heart, as it is not only pedagogically valuable, but was also produced with ethical and ecological considerations in mind.

A joint project

"FLINS AWAY!" is more than just a book. It is the result of a collaboration between various experts.

The author Tom Rechl draws on his experience as a police officer and prevention educator. one, while the illustrator Christa "Dita" Sommerauer brings the book to life with her creative drawings.

This collaboration allows us to examine the topic of prevention from different perspectives.

Sustainable production

An important aspect of "FLOSSEN WEG!" is sustainable production. We deliberately chose a printing company in Austria to ensure short transport routes and support the local economy.

The Gugler printing company is known for its environmentally friendly production, in which all materials are biodegradable or recyclable.

FLINS AWAY! Made from sustainably sourced wood, with the Austrian Ecolabel and circular economy certification. Developed and printed in Austria.

A contribution to the common good

We see "FLOSSEN WEG!" not only as a commercial product, but as a contribution to the social welfare.

Through our collaboration with prevention associations and educational institutions, we ensure that the book reaches those who need it most.

Our pricing model – 15 euros for five books via direct sales – enables schools, kindergartens and advice centers to purchase the book at a low cost.

Support FLOSSING AWAY!

The FLOSSING AWAY! project can be supported at any time with book donations. Support is available at the Himal Hemp Shop in Graz and online .

We distribute the donated copies to professional organizations in the fields of education and violence prevention.

As a result, over 500 institutions in Germany and Austria were supplied with three copies each in October and November 2024.

A glimpse into the future

As a publisher, it is my joyful duty to support projects like "FLOSSEN WEG!".

We are already planning further materials that build on this book and will further focus on the issue of preventing sexual violence against children.

The hardcover version is expected to be released around 2025, supported by crowdfunding, and is a more sustainable and longer-lasting solution for libraries, for example.

Conclusion: An important issue

"FLOSSES AWAY!" is more than just a product in our publishing program.

It is a matter close to our hearts, intended to help ensure that children can grow up safely and independently.
