We work very closely with our manufacturing partner and jointly develop the products up to the point of small-batch production. The manufacturing company in Nepal is committed to the training of its workers, provides support in case of family illness, and arranges childcare. Production in Nepal costs approximately one-fifth of the retail price in Europe, which must also cover export, import, sales, and tax costs. Product development, technical documentation, quality assurance, design, and marketing (including product photography) are currently handled entirely by volunteer supporters of the HIMAL HEMP project.

This durable product is made from reused traditional Nepalese women's clothing – upcycling!

The recycled material is washed before further processing, the weaving is done by human power on a mechanical loom, and small amounts of electricity are needed for sewing.

Except for the zipper, this product is made from 100% recycled material! It doesn't get much more resource-efficient than that.

This product contains absolutely no animal-derived ingredients.
