Our hemp bread baskets are made for Himal Hemp in a small sewing workshop in Nepal, using wild hemp from local farmers - better than organic!

We place great emphasis on high-quality workmanship to ensure a long product lifespan. We achieve this through intensive and direct contact with our production partners.

This product is made from handwoven, durable hemp that grows wild in Nepal and is harvested by small-scale farmers.
The filling consists of high-quality (but not yet certified organic) cotton fabric. Unfortunately, obtaining the necessary certification is (still) not feasible for small businesses in Nepal.
We are constantly striving to improve all the materials used in our products. Therefore, our product range also includes many items made from/with recycled sari (reused Nepalese women's clothing).

+++ Raw materials from organic farming +++

We use not only organic hemp, but also wild-growing hemp, whose cultivation area is not cultivated and grows and thrives entirely without herbicides and pesticides.
The resilient and wild-growing hemp is harvested in Nepal by local small-scale farmers and woven on mechanical looms.

This product is made in Nepal by Suraj Asfahal in his small family business. Starting with just two sewing machines, the young entrepreneur now employs several people. His respectful and appreciative approach, his professional expertise, and his high personal standards of quality are highly valued by both his employees and us.

Hemp requires far less water to produce than cotton.

+++ Reduced-emission production +++

The use of chemicals can be largely avoided in hemp if it is not processed into viscose (chemical treatment to obtain fine fibers similar to cotton), but only spun and woven, as is the case with this product.

This product contains no animal-derived ingredients.

+++ Recycled & Recyclable +++

This product is made from 100% natural hemp and cotton. This means that the entire product is biodegradable. Furthermore, recycled cellulose fibers are used to manufacture a variety of products, including insulation, soundproofing materials, industrial cleaning cloths, and even modern cellulose viscose. Therefore: Dispose of at a suitable recycling center!
