WITH LOVE FROM NEPAL

+++ Fair & Social +++

This product is manufactured in Nepal by our partner company, Local Women's Handicraft, which processes hemp from fiber to finished product. This company is committed to the training of its workers, provides support in cases of family illness, and offers childcare. Himal Hemp's entire concept is based on fair and socially responsible value creation and aims to enable as many people as possible in Nepal to live a life of dignity through their own work. We document each step of the production process and maintain a constructive dialogue with the producers. In Nepal, this direct and personal approach is currently the only way to produce under appropriate working conditions, pay fair wages, and ensure high product quality.
Production in Nepal costs about one-fifth of the retail price in Europe, which must also cover export, import, sales, and tax costs. Product development, technical documentation, quality assurance, design, and marketing (including product photography) are currently handled entirely by volunteer supporters of the HIMAL HEMP project.

YES, WE CARE!

+++ Recycled & Recyclable +++

Recycle Sari: This durable product is made from reused traditional Nepalese women's clothing – upcycling! – and can be easily separated into its components for further recycling.
Hemp: The wild hemp used is a natural product and recyclable.

+++ Resource-efficient +++

This product is entirely manufactured in Nepal; the supply routes are limited to the journey from the former sari wearers to the production facility, where the old saris are cut and woven.
The wild hemp is also harvested in Nepal and twisted, woven and processed into the final product at our partner company.

+++ Reduced-emission production +++

The recycled material is washed before further processing; the weaving of the recycled sari and hemp is done by human power on a mechanical loom; small amounts of electricity are needed for sewing.

+++ Raw materials from organic farming +++

We use not only organic hemp, but also wild-grown hemp that thrives entirely without herbicides and pesticides. This protects the environment.

+++ Vegan +++

This product contains no animal-derived ingredients.
